Thickness more than 2 mm may only occasionally be applied, e.g. when filling bug holes and bubbles. In hot conditions, protect the finished surface from drying out by lightly misting and covering. Do not cover with a hydraulic binder-based mortar. Do not use on submerged substrates. Not suitable for structural cracks subject to movement.

General Condition

All surfaces must be structurally sound, dry, clean, and free from oil, grease, wax, dust, and other contaminants. All surfaces should be dampened using a sponge or cloth immediately before application. Very porous surfaces should be properly primed to ensure adhesion.

Concrete Surfaces

Remove all release agents, especially on tilt-up slabs. New concrete must be cured for at least 28 days before application.

Rendered Surfaces

Newly rendered surfaces must be cured for at least 7 days before application. Painted surfaces must be scrubbed or abraded to expose at least 75% clean surfaces.

Mix (1) kg of SikaWall 101 with 0.5 to 1 kg of cement until the mixture is uniform and lump free. Do NOT add water. The product is designed as a ready-to-mix paste; adding water will compromise performance

Substrate Condition: The concrete surface should be slightly damp (not dry and not saturated) before application. This prevents excessive suction, ensures proper workability and maintains product quality.

Small Quantity: Use a small paddle or hand mixer and mix for at least 3 minutes until the mixture is smooth and uniform.

Large Quantity: Use a mechanical mixer at a speed of approximately 500 rpm. Mix for at least 3 minutes or until the desired consistency is achieved.

Resting Time: After mixing, allow the mixture to stand for 1 - 2 minutes before application to release air bubbles and improve workability.

Color Variation: Different cement brands may produce slightly different color shades. Always perform a test mix before actual application. The final color depends on the type of cement and the cement-to-product ratio used.

Apply the mixed product evenly using a clean steel trowel. This initial coat serves to level the substrate and fill surface imperfections.

Apply a minimum of two coats: First coat for leveling and filling pores. Second coat for finishing and achieving a smooth surface.

Additional coats may be applied as needed to reach the required thickness or desired texture.

Porous Substrates: If the substrate has excessive pores, apply a thin first coat to fill these areas before proceeding with subsequent layers for easier and faster application. 

Drying Time Between Coats: Allow 30 - 60 minutes or until the previous coat is firm and dry to the touch before applying the next layer. 

Surface Finishing: After the final coat has dried, polish the surface using sandpaper No. 380 for a smooth finish. 

Before Covering: Allow a minimum of 7 days curing before applying any covering material (paint, wallpaper, etc.) to ensure proper adhesion and durability.

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened or cured materials can be only mechanically removed.
