Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT

3rd Generation Low-Mid Range Superplasticizer

Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT is a third generation low-mid range superplasticizer for concrete and mortar. It meets the requirements for superplasticizers according to ASTM C494 type G.

Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT acts by different mechanisms. Through surfaceabsorption and sterical separation effect on the cement particles, in parallel to
the hydration process, the following properties are obtained:
  • High water reduction (resulting in high density and strengths)
  • Excellent flowability (resulting highly reduced placing and compacting efforts)

Usage

Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT is suitable for the production of site mixed as well as ready-mix concrete. Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT is used for concrete with extended transportation or placing time. Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT facilitates good water reduction, excellent flow properties optimal cohesion and highest self compaction behaviour.
Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT is used for the following types of concrete:
  • Hot weather concrete and concrete with extended transportation or placing time
  • Concrete with highest water reduction (10-15% typical)
  • High strength concrete
  • Grade 30-40 mpa low medium-high workability concrete, 125 mm -180 mm slump
High water reduction and excellent flowability have a positive influence on the above mentioned applications.

DISPENSING

With the use of Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT concrete of highest quality is being produced. The standard rules of good concreting practice (production as well as
placing) must also be observed with Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT concrete.

Fresh concrete must be cured properly.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

For plastic concrete:                                                  1.0-1.5% by weight of

Application steps

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

Sika® ViscoCrete®-900 NT is added to the gauging water or simultaneously poured into the concrete mixer. For optimum utilization of the high water reduction we recommend thorough mixing at a minimal wet mixing of 60 seconds. The addition of the remaining gauging water – to fine tune concrete consistency - may only be started after 2/3 of the wet mixing time, to avoid surplus water in the concrete.
