Water Reducing and Set-Retarding Concrete Admixture

A cost effective and versatile water-reducing and set-retarding concrete admixtures with a wide dosage range for varied applications. It produces high quality concrete with extended set retardation to allow sufficient time for delivery and placement. Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C meets ASTM C 494 requirements for Type B and Type D and it is also compatible with all cements meeting the ASTM standards.

Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C is a ready-to-use liquid concrete admixture which provides the following properties:
  •  Improved workability of fresh concrete
  •  Controlled extension of setting times
  •  Long slump retention (extended slump life)
  •  Accelerated strength development after setting
  •  Reduced shrinkage and creep
  •  Chloride free – does not attack reinforcement steels

Usage

Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C is designed for use where the delivery and placing conditions for high quality concrete are most demanding, such as: n Ready-mix concrete (RM/C)
  •  Pumped concrete
  •  Precast and prestressed concrete
  •  Long hauls/ high temperature RMC supplies
  •  Large volume / continuous concrete pour

Chemical Base

A blend of specially selected raw lignosulfonate materials.

Shelf Life

12 months from date of production if stored properly in undamaged
unopened, original sealed packaging.

Storage Conditions

Store in cool and dry conditions at temperatures above +5°C, well
ventilated place away from ignition sources, heat or flame. Protect from
direct sunlight.

Application

Application Information

Dispensing

Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C should be dispensed directly into the mixing

water prior to its addition to the aggregates. When accidental overdosing

occurs, Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C does not entrain excessive amounts of air. During any overdosing circumstances, where its effect is an extended

setting time, the concrete must be kept moist or be covered with PE sheet to prevent premature drying out.
Consumption

Recommended Dosage

0.2% - 0.9% by weight of cement. Exact dosage rate properties variation of the constituent materials and the temperature, hence it is advisable to carry out trial mixes. Sika® Plastocrete® RM/C is compatible with all types of Portland cement including S.R.C.
