SikaPlast-2000 P4

3rd Generation Low-mid Range Super plasticizer

SikaPlast -2000 P4 is a third generation low-mid range super plasticizer for concrete and mortar. It meets the requirements for super plasticizers according to ASTM C494 type G.

SikaPlast -2000 P4 acts by different mechanisms. Through surface absorption and sterical separation effect on the cement particles, in parallel to the hydration process, the following properties are obtained:
  •  High water reduction (resulting in high density and strengths).
  •  Excellent flowability (resulting highly reduced placing and compacting efforts).

Usage

SikaPlast -2000 P4 is suitable for the production of site mixed as well as ready-mix concrete. SikaPlast -2000 P4 is used for concrete with extended transportation or placing time. SikaPlast -2000 P4 facilitates good water reduction,    excellent flow properties, optimal cohesion and highest self-compacting behavior. SikaPlast -2000 P4 is used for the following types of concrete:
  •  Hot weather concrete and concrete with extended transportation - or placing time
  •  Concrete with highest water reduction   (10-15%   typical)
  • High strength concrete.
  •  Grade 20-40mpa low medium-high workability concrete, 75 mm - 200 mm slump.
High water reduction and excellent flow ability have a positive influence on the above mention applications.

Concreting Guidance

With the use of SikaPlast -2000 P4 concrete of highest quality is being produced. The standard rules of good concreting practice (production as well as placing) must also be observed with SikaPlast -2000 P4 concrete. Fresh concrete must be cured properly.

Application Information

Dispensing

SikaPlast -2000 P4 is added to the gauging water or simultaneously poured into the concrete mixer. For optimum utilization of the high water reduction we recommend thorough mixing at a minimal wet mixing of 60 seconds. The addition of the remaining gauging water – to fine tune concrete consistency may only be started after 2/3 of the wet mixing time, to avoid surplus water in the concrete.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

When using SikaPlast -2000 P4 a suitable design has to be taken into account and local materials sources shall be trialled. SikaPlast -2000 P4 shall not be added to dry cement. Excessive water addition or overdosing may cause bleeding or segregation.
